• How do I choose between a KM lock nut and an MB lock washer for my assembly?

  KM lock nuts, compliant with the DIN 981 standard, are designed to provide axial fixing of a bearing on a threaded shaft. They must always be paired with an MB lock washer, which complies with the DIN 5406 standard. The tab of the MB washer engages in the shaft groove while another tab fits into the slot of the KM nut to neutralise the risk of loosening through vibration.
• What is the technical difference between an H adapter sleeve and an AH withdrawal sleeve?

  The H adapter sleeve, including the extended HE series, allows the mounting of a bearing with a K-type tapered bore onto a standard cylindrical shaft. The AH withdrawal sleeve is specifically designed to facilitate bearing extraction without requiring a specialised puller. Both solutions address distinct needs for mounting or quick maintenance on cylindrical shafts.
• Why use friction bushes rather than a keyed assembly?

  Friction bushes, such as Taper Lock bushes in series 1008 to 5050 or tapered clamping bushes, secure pulleys, sprockets and hubs through a wedging effect. This method enables installation without a key. It also ensures clean, rapid dismounting through the simple use of the set screws integrated into the device.
• Which solution should be chosen to protect a bearing from dust in a contaminated environment?

  To prevent the ingress of dust through the front face of the bearing, supplementary sealing should be incorporated. V-ring or Nilos seals are specifically suited to this use. These accessories effectively eliminate the ingress of contaminants and are particularly recommended in dirty working environments.
• In which cases should polymer spacer rings be preferred?

  Spacer rings and stop rings provide the final axial arrangement of the assembly. Where the assembly presents a risk of residual sliding, the use of bronze or polymer variants is recommended. These specific materials effectively limit the friction generated by such sliding on the contact faces.
